Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown unit with acute care and telemetry experience and NJ or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the Stepdown unit caring for acute care inpatients requiring medical/surgical, telemetry, or IMC level of care
  • Patient ratios are typically 1:4-5+
  • Shift is night (3x12 hours), 19:00-7:30
  • Requires working every other weekend and two of the three winter holidays
  • Floating required within skillset when not needed on home unit
  • Uses Epic EMR for charting
  • First time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Returning staff must have at least a 1-year gap from previous employment within the health system to be eligible
  • Locals are accepted at the same rate
  • No block scheduling is available
  • Scrub requirements not specified

Requirements

  • Active NJ or compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience required
  • Strong skills in interpreting cardiac rhythms and performing NIHSS assessments
  • Experience in antiarrhythmia drips without titration required
