Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasonographer with 3+ years of experience and ARDMS(AB) certification for a varied dayshift role with call rotation.
Responsibilities
- Diagnostic imaging setting focusing on general abdominal, obstetric, and small parts ultrasound exams
- Day shifts are 8 hours with varied start times and participation in a call rotation after 40 scheduled hours per week
- Expected to work every other weekend if requested by the department manager or supervisor
- Use of PACS for image archiving and Epic for documentation
- Responsible for providing ultrasound guidance for attending physicians in special procedures
- Fifty mile radius rule applies for travel pay consideration
- Assignment is for 13 weeks
- Prepare patients for ultrasound exams and obtain diagnostic images for interpretation by radiologists
- Provide ultrasound guidance for special medical procedures
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in accordance with HIPAA standards
- Responsible for troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and coordinating with clinical engineering as needed
- Correctly label body parts and viewing planes for imaging studies
- Send images after hours when required
- Facility recognizes major holidays including Christmas, New Year's Day, Thanksgiving, Labor Day, Memorial Day, and Fourth of July
- Travelers may only work two consecutive 13-week assignments and must then leave for at least 26 weeks before returning
- Facility may cancel up to three shifts per 13-week assignment due to low census or staffing needs
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of ultrasound/sonography experience required
- Active ARDMS(AB) certification required
- Competency in general abdominal, OB, and small parts ultrasound techniques
- Experience with PACS and Epic systems
- Ability to perform high-level disinfection of endocavity probes per policy
- Current state license required if applicable
