Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring prior travel, charge, and cardiac drip experience, along with current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Med/Surg unit with telemetry patient population
• Assignment length is 16 weeks with 12-hour night shifts
• Every other weekend required and schedule may be adjusted to meet unit needs
• Progressive care experience is preferred
• Uses EPIC EMR, recent EPIC experience from within the past 2 years is required
• Bi-weekly orientation sessions are held on Mondays
• No block scheduling permitted
• RTO (time off) will be considered based on unit needs
• Candidates must explain any employment gaps over 90 days
• All work history must be thoroughly documented, including bed count, EMR used, and facility type
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Rates are determined based on the distance from the facility, with different tiers for local and travel candidates

Requirements

• Active VT or compact RN license required or willingness to obtain VT licensure promptly upon assignment
• Minimum of 2 years Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Charge RN experience is required
• Experience with insulin drips and cardiac drips required
• Current AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required, with NIHSS completed prior to start
• Recent EPIC experience from within the past 2 years is required
• Reliable personal or rental vehicle recommended, as public transportation is not available
• Vehicles should be equipped with all season or snow tires if assignment is between November and April
