Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position requiring sedation skills and on-call availability.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a Cardiac Cath Lab within an acute care hospital setting
• Average caseload is 6 coronary, vascular, and IR procedures per day with no EP procedures
• Unit has 2 suites/labs
• Schedule is Monday through Thursday, 0630-1700, with 10-hour shifts
• On-call required every 3rd or 4th weekend (24 hours Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) and 6-7 weeknight shifts per 6 weeks
• Call response time is 30 minutes
• Occasional floating to 1:1 sitter help
• Uses Cerner and Merge for EMR and equipment
• RNs are responsible for sedating, monitoring, and circulating cases; scrubbing is not required
• Scrubs in light blue are provided by the hospital
• Unit-specific orientation includes computer-based training and orientation binder the first week
• Holiday and call coverage may be required as needed
• Former permanent staff must have a 6-month separation and require hospital approval to return
• Local candidates living within 80 miles are accepted at a reduced pay rate
• All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required prior to start date
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Cath Lab RN experience required
• Experience with sedation, sedation reversal, and cardiac drips and medications required
• Two professional references required, including one supervisor reference within the last 12 months
• Knowledge of Cerner EMR preferred
