Description

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with at least 2 years of experience and current BLS and ARRT (N) or CNMT certification.

Responsibilities

Work in a hospital nuclear medicine department specializing in diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceutical procedures
Day shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday
No weekend or on-call requirements
Responsible for procedures utilizing gamma cameras (planar and SPECT), PET, radiation detectors, dose calibrators, and quality control equipment
Handles radiopharmaceutical administration, preparation, measurement, and quality control according to NRC guidelines
Responsible for all aspects of radiopharmaceutical injection, calculation, and documentation
Performs patient positioning, equipment operation, and monitoring during procedures
Applies radiation safety regulations and quality control protocols diligently
Works independently using sound judgment and initiative
No more than 5 days of requested time off will be approved for the contract
Local travelers can only complete one travel assignment at this facility

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of nuclear medicine technologist experience required
ARRT (N) or CNMT certification required
Current BLS (AHA) certification required
Knowledge of Nuclear Medicine instrumentation, radiation safety practices, NRC guidelines, dosimetry, and ALARA techniques required
Experience with intravenous (IV) access and aseptic technique required
Knowledge of RIS and HIS preferred
License required if applicable
Must live more than 50 miles from facility; local candidates will not be considered
