Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool night position requiring a NH or compact RN license and a minimum of two years of Med/Surg experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital setting, floating between the Thompson, Farnum, and Kingsbury units
• Care for adult-geriatric patient population
• Float between units during shifts, with possible rotations such as 4 hours in Kingsbury and 8 hours in Farnum
• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required and holiday coverage as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Must be able to float to stepdown unit when required
• EPIC EMR is used and experience is required
• Responsibilities include coordinating total nursing care, patient and family education, and leadership in collaboration with ancillary staff
• Professional scrubs without logos are required as dress code
• Block scheduling and schedule accommodation requests are not permitted
• Requested time off must be submitted at time of application, with a maximum of 5 days during the assignment
• Local candidates residing within 50 miles are not considered
• Must be willing and able to float between multiple units within a single shift

Requirements

• Active NH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Minimum of two years' recent Med/Surg experience
• Experience with stepdown care, including cardiac drips and other stepdown practices
• Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications
• Experience with EPIC EMR required
• Must have personal vehicle
• ICU RNs will be considered
