Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for an afternoon shift position in Michigan, requiring a MI RN license and Level 2 Trauma experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Operating Room environment
• Covers a wide range of surgical specialties including Ortho, Vascular, Neuro, General/Gynecology, and Urology
• Afternoon shift from 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM, 12-hour shifts
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call duties
• Level 2 Trauma OR experience is required
• Responsible for assessing surgical patient needs, developing and implementing care plans, and maintaining patient safety during procedures
• Provides leadership to the OR team and coordinates scheduling changes within the room
• Assists anesthesia when necessary and monitors the sterile field
• Facilitates communication among patients, family, physicians, and the OR team
• Participates in staff development through preceptorship, in-services, and continuing education
• Scrub attire policies apply
• Local candidates accepted; those within a 50-mile radius may complete only one travel assignment
• Maximum of 5 days of requested time off allowed

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license required
• Current BLS (AHA) certification required
• At least 2 years of recent operating room RN experience required
• Proficiency in Ortho, Vascular, Neuro, Gen/Gyn, and Urology procedures required
• Level 2 Trauma experience required
• Recent travel nursing experience highly preferred
