Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Cardiac Telemetry RN with a Hawaii license and acute hospital experience for a 15-bed progressive care unit position.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 15-bed Progressive Care Unit with both step-down ICU and telemetry beds
- Cares for cardiac progressive care and step-down ICU patients
- Patient ratios are 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for Step-down ICU
- Scheduled for 36 hours per week on varied shifts following orientation
- Uses Meditech for charting and Pyxis for medications, with continuous cardiac monitoring and BIPAP equipment
- Will float to all acute units including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER
- No on-call responsibilities
- Primary responsibilities include providing nursing care, telemetry monitoring, reading strips, and performing fingerstick blood sugars
- NIHSS and PALS certifications are preferred
- Scrubs are required as the dress code
- Anticipate start procedures by arriving in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start for Employee Health onboarding on Friday
- COVID-19 vaccination is required
Requirements
- Active HI RN license is required by the start of the assignment
- Minimum 1 year of recent hospital acute care experience within the last year
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and strip reading
- Familiarity with Meditech charting is beneficial
- Must complete Employee Health screening 48-72 hours before assignment starts
