Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a CA license and robotics experience for an acute care assignment.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Operating Room of an acute care hospital setting
• Handles a broad case mix: ortho, urology, GYN, neuro, hands, podiatry, vascular, general surgery, ENT, bariatrics, pediatrics, and robotics
• Expectation to provide care across all listed surgical specialties, including use of DaVinci Robotics
• Unit includes 5 OR suites with 8-30 cases per day
• Utilizes Cerner Surginet EMR; prior Cerner experience is required
• Scheduled for 8-hour shifts, primarily 11:00 am–7:30 pm with every other weekend shifts
• On-call requirement: One weeknight per week, one weekend per month (24-hour Sat/Sun), on-call for one major and one minor holiday
• 30-minute call response time required
• Floating may be required to nearby facilities within approximately 6.5 miles
• Scrubs are provided
• Unit/department orientation is up to two days
• Responsibilities include circulating and assisting for a wide range of surgical specialties
• Charge nurse and OR techs are present to provide support
• Environment is currently under construction with potential for increased noise
• On-call participation is structured by rotation and is a rare occurrence
• Holiday coverage expectations include one major and one minor holiday
• RNs may be floated between facilities as necessary
• Returning candidates must not have been employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year
• Orientation includes up to two days specific to the operating room department

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of application; pending licenses are not accepted
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum of 3 years of OR experience in an acute care setting
• Experience in all listed common surgical specialties and robotics required
• Cerner Surginet EMR experience required
• Must reside or stay within a 30-minute radius for call response
• Submission must include a copy of current driver's license
• Two professional references required: one supervisor reference from within the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from within the past 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
