Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for an 8-hour day shift position in New York requiring a current NY RN license and at least 2 years of recent OR experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Operating Room unit of a hospital setting
• Day shifts of 8 hours, five days per week
• 13-week assignment duration
• No on-call responsibilities during this contract
• Patient care involves surgical interventions using standard OR clinical equipment
• Must be able to prioritize and work effectively in stressful situations
• Expected to recognize and implement safe patient handling procedures
• May assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed
• Excellent communication and organizational skills required
• 75-mile radius rule applies; local candidates within 75 miles are not eligible for consideration

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience required
• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum one year medical-surgical experience preferred
• Strong leadership, assessment, and problem-solving skills necessary
• Competencies in clinical equipment use and lethal dysrhythmia interpretation required
