Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a MD or compact state license, ACLS/BLS certifications, and recent orthopedic and surgical experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Care for patients after orthopedic, colorectal, vascular, and bariatric surgeries
• Night shift schedule: 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Floating required within the nurse’s skillset
• Locals within 60 miles are eligible at a different pay rate
• Typical patient population includes those recovering from complex surgeries
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment
• Scrub or dress code requirements will be provided prior to assignment start
• Holiday coverage may be required according to unit needs

Requirements

• Active MD or compact RN license required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• At least 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with minimum 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Experience in large orthopedic programs, total joints, colorectal, vascular, and bariatric surgery required
• First-time travelers are accepted
