Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist with CCC-SLP certification and 2 years of acute care experience for an inpatient hospital position.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care hospital setting
• Unit specializes in speech-language pathology for a diverse inpatient population
• 1:1 patient to provider ratio with an average of 8 visits per day
• Average daily census is 50 patients
• Work schedule is 5x8 hour day shifts, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
• Weekend shifts required approximately one weekend per month
• Participate in interdisciplinary care and coordinate with other healthcare team members
• May supervise students when available within the department
• Expected to maintain clinical competency and participate in ongoing continuing education
• Adheres to professional code of ethics and departmental procedures, including productivity standards
• Scrubs required in Caribbean Blue or Lavender
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Can request up to two days of scheduled time off

Requirements

• Current CCC-SLP certification required
• Maryland state SLP license required if applicable
• Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience required
• Experience performing FEES (Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing) preferred
• ASHA membership preferred
• Must provide two professional references for consideration
