Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with an active Illinois license and recent critical care experience for a busy Level I Trauma Center.
Responsibilities
- Work in multiple ICU environments, including Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, and Neuro ICU
- Patient population includes critically ill adults requiring advanced care
- Mandatory floating to different ICU units and occasionally to MS units based on staffing needs
- Night shifts, 3x12 hours (7:00 pm - 7:30 am), with no block scheduling allowed
- First week of orientation and precepting will be on days
- Work every other weekend, totaling two weekends per month
- Uses Cerner EMR system
- Strict RTO policy: maximum of 5 days off, no more than 2 consecutive days, no weekends or holidays, and none the day before or after a holiday
- Team-based assignments in units outside primary competency area as needed
- Floating may occur outside the home facility within a 50-mile radius with notice two hours before shift
- Level 1 Trauma Center environment with high acuity cases
- Navy blue scrubs required; not provided
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required, no pending licensure allowed
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care ICU experience required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Must live within 75 miles of the facility
- COVID vaccination required
