Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position on a high-acuity, safety-focused unit with night shift and weekend requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 24-bed Med/Surg unit specializing in care for at-risk patients
• The unit is secured with enhanced safety features including video monitoring, ligature alarms, anti-barricade doors, and badge-secured entrance
• Night shift position (3x12 hours, 19:00–07:30)
• Every other weekend is required
• Floating to other units, including as a Patient Observer (Sitter), is mandatory
• Cerner EMR used; prior experience preferred but not required
• Responsibilities include providing care to at-risk Med/Surg patients in a secured, safety-enhanced environment
• Must work at least 50% of holidays during the contract
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates within 75 miles are accepted at a reduced rate
• No re-orientation required for returning travelers within 18 months; a 9-month gap is required to return
• Work attire should align with hospital scrub or dress code guidelines

Requirements

• Active MO or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of overall nursing experience required
• At least 1 year of Med/Surg experience required
• Trauma Level 1 experience preferred
