Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift assignment requiring prior charge nurse and travel experience, with a VT or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Hospital setting with Med/Surg and telemetry patient population
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5 with an average daily census of 22
• Night shifts are 12 hours, with every other weekend and holiday coverage as needed
• May be asked to float between Acute Rehab and Med/Surg units
• Backup Charge Nurse responsibilities may be required
• Uses Cerner EMR with experience preferred
• Travelers must have their own vehicle due to lack of public transportation
• Includes non-billable 8-hour orientation
• No block scheduling or schedule accommodations are permitted
• Candidates must clearly state all requested time off (up to 5 days) at the time of application
• Teamwork and leadership required in coordinating patient care and working with ancillary staff
• Strict call-off policy: after 3 call offs, the contract may be terminated
• First-time travelers will not be considered
• Scrubs or dress code details not specified

Requirements

• Active VT or compact RN license in hand
• BLS and ACLS (AHA) certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg and Rehab experience required
• Previous charge RN experience required
• At least 3 months of prior travel nursing experience required
• BSN preferred
• Supervisory signed reference from the past two years required
• Local travelers (within 50 miles) are not eligible
