Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med-Surg position on a secure unit, requiring a current NY RN license and Epic EMR proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Work on a secure Med-Surg unit in a hospital setting
• Night shift from 19:00 to 07:30
• 13-week contract assignment
• Cares for adult Med-Surg patients
• Epic EMR is used and previous experience is required
• No blocked scheduling allowed
• RTO must be requested at time of application
• Travellers residing in Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, or Washington counties are not eligible
• Only medical exemptions for the flu vaccine signed by a licensed professional are accepted
• More than 3 call outs during the contract may result in termination and makeup shifts are required within a 6-week period
• Travel pairs are not allowed and candidates may only submit to one position
• Competency testing required for applicants with less than 2 years of Med-Surg experience

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at the time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years recent Med-Surg nursing experience required
• BLS certification through AHA or RQI required
• Epic EMR experience is mandatory
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number required for consideration
• Medical professionals only—no Canadian SINs accepted
• Must pass Med-Surg competency testing if less than 2 years experience
