Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on an adaptive acuity unit in Vermont, requiring both PCU and charge nurse experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based adaptive acuity unit with 25 beds
• Primary patient population includes med/surg and telemetry cases
• RN to patient ratio is 1:5 with occasional assignment to PCU care (3:1 ratio)
• Role requires working 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend work is required every other weekend and holiday coverage is expected
• Travelers must be willing to float to any inpatient unit within their scope
• Drip experience is required for this role
• Charge nurse responsibilities are required as part of this role
• Holiday time off will not be approved as all available time has been reserved
• All scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of application; none will be considered after offer
• Travelers must be willing to work in any inpatient unit as needed
• Working with a small, critical access team environment
• First-time travelers will not be considered
• No more than 5 days of requested time off will be considered

Requirements

• Active VT or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) are required
• Minimum 2 years of recent med/surg tele experience required
• Prior charge nurse experience is required
• Strong PCU experience required
• Minimum 3 months of previous travel nursing experience required
• Drip experience required
• ICU and critical access facility experience strongly preferred
• Candidate must have their own vehicle for transportation
