Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Vascular Ultrasound Technologist with 2+ years' experience and ARDMS certification for a dynamic role performing a variety of diagnostic sonography procedures.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in a healthcare facility with inpatient, emergency department, and outpatient settings
• Performs invasive and non-invasive ultrasound procedures including biopsies, routine OB/GYN, vascular venous and arterial studies, abdominal, small parts, intra-cavity, and color Doppler imaging
• Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM, with every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage and weekday/weekend call as scheduled
• Responsible for producing quality diagnostic images by selecting appropriate technical factors and equipment settings
• Obtains and reviews patient history, verifies orders, and ensures accurate documentation
• Operates and maintains sonographic equipment, manages patient schedules, and upholds equipment and work area standards
• Performs appropriate sterilization techniques and maintains documentation logs
• Adheres to The Joint Commission, federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and protocols
• Must maintain high standards of medical ethics and pursue ongoing professional development
• Works independently to communicate findings and collaborate with multidisciplinary team
• No local candidates accepted; candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility
• No more than 5 days of requested time off will be considered

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in general ultrasound and vascular sonography
• Active ARDMS certification required
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Experience in abdominal and OB sonography required
• Strong critical thinking, interpersonal, and patient communication skills necessary
• Ability to multitask in a complex environment with changing priorities
• License required if applicable
