Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position with PCU responsibilities, requiring active IL and IA licensure and prior travel experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Med Surg/Telemetry and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting
• Shifts are 12 hours, starting at 6:45 AM, with every other weekend required
• Floating to multiple facilities within the same discipline may be required
• Patient care management in both Med/Surg and PCU environments
• Epic EMR is used; experience is required
• No on-call requirements
• May be required to fill in as charge nurse or preceptor for new hires
• Role is part of an interdisciplinary team delivering patient care
• Expect to work 2 out of 3 major winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, Thanksgiving)
• Limited time off requests permitted during peak holiday periods
• Initial orientation/training consists of 16 hours
• Returning employees must not have been employed by the client in the past 12 months

Requirements

• Active IL RN license at the time of consideration
• Active IA RN license, or proof of application for IA single-state or compact RN license
• Current AHA certifications in ACLS and BLS are required
• Minimum of 2 years recent RN experience
• At least 1 completed travel contract required
• PCU or cardiac experience is required if not already experienced in PCU
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
