Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Float Pool position in Alaska, requiring an active AK RN license and at least two years of experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital setting with Med/Surg, Tele, and discharge lounge units
- Float pool position with assignments to various Med-Surg and Telemetry units, including a 12-bed unit, four 23-bed units, and a 4-bed unit
- Adult and geriatric patient populations
- Patient ratios are 1:4
- Night shifts scheduled as 4x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
- Weekend coverage required every other weekend
- Floating between units is required
- Facility is a level II trauma center
- Uses Pyxis medication system
- Documentation is completed in Cerner EMR
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Team members provide care across Med/Surg, Telemetry, and discharge lounge units
- Orientation is 64 hours in length
- Weekend and holiday coverage may be expected
- Care is provided in a 163-bed hospital
- Scrub or dress code will be specified by the hospital upon assignment
Requirements
- Active Alaska RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg Tele experience
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, CPI
- Willingness to float between units as needed
- Experience with Cerner documentation system preferred
