Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist with at least 2 years of home health experience and a current CA OT license for a weekday role in post-acute care.

Responsibilities

  • Position is in a Home Health, post-acute care setting
  • Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm
  • Average of four home health visits per day, including a mix of evaluations and revisits
  • Coverage area includes north-eastern Sacramento into Folsom
  • Charting is done using Cerner EMR; previous Cerner experience preferred but not required
  • Mileage is reimbursed per GSA guidelines
  • Role requires first-to-float flexibility as needed
  • Responsibilities include performing evaluations and revisits for patients in their homes
  • Personal mileage timesheets require supervisor approval through twice-monthly meetings or email submission
  • Support includes paid mileage and twice-monthly supervisor meetings for logistical needs
  • 12 hours of orientation provided at start
  • Scrubs or professional attire required per agency guidelines

Requirements

  • Current, active California Occupational Therapist (OT) license required if applicable
  • Minimum 2 years of healthcare experience, with recent home health experience preferred
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Must hold a National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance required
  • Two professional references: one supervisor from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the prior 3 years, both with employment dates and rehire eligibility
  • COTA candidates with home health experience may be considered if no OT candidates apply
