Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro Stepdown position requiring Epic EMR experience and a VA or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a 12-bed Neuro Stepdown unit utilizing critical care and neuroscience principles
  • Patient population includes neuro trauma, post-neuro ICU transfers, subarachnoid, intraventricular, or intracerebral hemorrhage, ENT oncology post-surgical patients, and spine surgery patients
  • Patient ratio is typically 1:3
  • Night shifts (3x12 hours, 19:00–07:00)
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday required
  • 13-week contract; options for 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Epic EMR is used and prior experience is required
  • Floating required according to facility policy
  • Provide intermediate care for post-ICU, neurological, surgical, and neuro trauma patients
  • 40 hours of time off may be approved during the 13-week contract
  • Must observe facility float policies as needed based on clinical experience
  • Every other holiday coverage is mandatory
  • No radius requirements for candidates
  • Twelve months must pass before returning as a traveler
  • Must provide copy of driver's license and Social Security card for consideration

Requirements

  • Active VA or compact RN license (can be pending at time of submission)
  • Certifications required: BLS and ACLS
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification required before start; can be pending at time of submission
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Two professional references required for consideration
