Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position requiring a compact or TN RN license and AHA BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit of an acute care hospital setting
• Assignment is for 13 weeks with night shifts of either 3x12 or 4x12 hours, from 18:30 to 07:00
• Every other weekend is required
• No call required
• Patient ratios are maintained at 1:7
• Floating to other units may be required based on staffing needs
• Travelers do not administer chemotherapy
• Participation in nursing student support and clinical education is required alongside patient care responsibilities
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online CBLs included
• 16 hours of nonbillable orientation are required at the start of the contract
• Hospital may cancel one shift biweekly due to census without penalty
• Scrub or dress code requirements are not specified in this posting

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
• AHA BLS certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
• Previous charge experience is preferred but not required
• All travelers must live at least 100 miles from the facility
• First time travelers are accepted
