Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg overflow and telemetry position requiring high acuity patient care and proficiency with cardiac drips.

Responsibilities

• Work on a Med/Surg overflow and telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Care for high acuity patients with a 1:6 or 1:7 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Proficiency required with cardiac drips including Cardizem, Tridil, and Amiodarone
• Night shifts available with options for 3x12 or 4x12 hour schedules
• Block scheduling may be available
• Every other weekend is required
• Must comply with a 50-mile radius rule for eligibility (no locals)
• Scrub attire is all navy or navy pants with a white top
• Responsibilities include providing care to Med/Surg and telemetry patients with high acuity needs
• Open to first-time travelers
• Orientation sessions occur every other Monday
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Copy of driver’s license and social security number needed
• Work on a Wednesday–Tuesday pay period schedule
• Must end contract on a Tuesday per facility pay period
• Must be able to start compliance process quickly with a hard deadline one week prior to start

Requirements

• Active AL or compact RN license in good standing
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Ability to manage high patient acuity and 1:6 or 1:7 ratios
• Proficient with cardiac medication drips (Cardizem, Tridil, Amiodarone)
• COVID vaccination required unless religious or medical exemption is documented
• Flu shot required unless religious or medical exemption is documented
