Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg-Oncology position requiring surgical, cardiac stepdown, and oncology care experience along with an active IL RN license.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in a hospital setting on a Med/Surg-Oncology unit
• May be required to float across multiple campuses including locations in Illinois and Iowa
• Works night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM with a schedule of 48 hours per week
• Care for surgical, cardiac stepdown, and oncology patients
• Uses Epic EMR, with Epic experience required
• May float between multiple campuses as needed
• Must be prepared to provide care for a diverse med/surg-oncology patient population
• Holiday coverage includes working two of the following: Christmas, New Year’s, or Thanksgiving
• Requests for time off during peak holiday dates are limited to one day
• Prior employment at the facility within the past 12 months may impact eligibility

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license required at the time of consideration
• Active Iowa RN or compact license required, or proof of application for either during onboarding
• Current BLS certification from AHA or ARC required
• Surgical, cardiac stepdown, and oncology care experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Submission of recent work history and resume
• Completion of a skills checklist within one year of consideration
• License verification and copy of certifications required
• One supervisory reference from the past 2 years is highly preferred
