Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist to work independently with pediatric and adult patients in a high-acuity setting, requiring BLS and ARDMS-AB certification.
Responsibilities
- Work independently in an ultrasound department serving pediatric and adult patients, often with high acuity
- Caseload averages 1-2 patients per hour
- Involves ED and STAT inpatient cases
- 12-hour night shifts with a 2-week scheduling cycle
- No on-call, call back, or holiday coverage required
- No weekend rotation unless needed
- No required floating but may occasionally include inpatient, outpatient, ED, or pediatric settings depending on shift
- Uses Epic EMR and GE Logiq 10 equipment
- Radiologists are available on site for support
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Initial orientation includes New Employee Orientation and 2 days of departmental training
- Scrub color requirement is black
- Free parking is provided for staff
- Time off requests require approval by the Resource Team
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years recent experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
- Current BLS and ARDMS-AB certifications required
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Ability to push and pull as part of physical demands
- License required if applicable
