Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Breast Oncology Clinic position, requiring oncology and triage experience and a current WI or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in an oncology clinic specializing in breast cancer patient care
- Day shifts, Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm
- Assigned to the breast medical oncology team for comprehensive patient care
- Floating may occur to other units if required by staffing needs
- No weekend or holiday shifts required for this assignment
- Provide multidisciplinary, compassionate care to breast cancer patients and their families across prevention, screening, treatment, and survivorship
- Educate and coordinate care for patients with breast cancer or related conditions
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including surgeons, oncologists, genetic counselors, and advanced practice providers
- Participate in a structured department-specific orientation, typically one week
- First-time travelers are accepted for some units
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- Pass/fail testing and competency renewal for telemetry are required
Requirements
- Active WI or compact RN license in hand at time of application
- Minimum of two years of recent acute care RN experience in oncology within the past three years
- Experience with oncology nursing and live answer telephone triage
- Competency in targeted patient assessments
- Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start, with strict pass/fail criteria
