Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for rotating night shifts at a Level 1 Trauma Center with mandatory floating requirements and an active IL RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in multiple ICU settings including Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, and Neuro ICU
- Care for critical care patients in a Level 1 Trauma Center environment
- Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00pm to 7:30am
- Every other weekend scheduling required
- Mandatory floating within ICU units and to MS units as needed
- First week of assignment includes orientation and precepting on day shift
- Uses Cerner EMR system
- RNs may be floated to various ICU and MS units, including outside primary competency, in a team-based care model
- Navy blue scrubs required and not provided
- Holiday time off is not permitted, nor is RTO immediately before or after holidays
- Maximum of 5 days requested time off per contract, no more than 2 consecutive days, and no weekend RTO allowed
- Strict compliance with onboarding and lab requirements, including lab work within 72 hours of offer acceptance
- No block scheduling or special scheduling requests allowed
- Travelers may receive up to 2 hours' notice for float assignments, including to other facilities within 50 miles
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum of 2 years recent acute care ICU experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Must be willing to float between units and facilities as assigned
- Candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility
- Proof of COVID vaccine required
