Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical position on the night shift in Nevada requiring an active NV RN license and the ability to float as needed.

Responsibilities

• Work in a combined Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes pediatric, adult, and geriatric cases
• Unit has 23 beds with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Common diagnoses include COPD, CHF, pre/post cath lab, orthopedic and general surgery, and acute respiratory failure
• Utilizes Omnicell medication dispenser, Baxter pumps, Masimo monitors, and GE telemetry monitoring system
• Electronic health records are maintained using MEDHOST
• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM with variable weekend assignments
• Potential to float to other departments based on census and unit needs
• Roles include providing care for a broad medical and surgical patient population
• Scrubs of any color may be worn; there is no mandatory scrub color
• Weekly orientations are provided on-site
• First time travelers are accepted
• May require holiday coverage depending on schedule

Requirements

• Active NV RN license required at time of application
• Minimum of 1 year recent relevant RN experience
• BLS required prior to start
• ACLS and PALS required (can be obtained within 60 and 90 days of start, respectively)
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required
• Must be able to pass fit testing on-site
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility in the last 12 months
• Must live more than 60 miles from the facility for travel consideration
• Cannot be employed full time elsewhere
• Must provide Social Security number and date of birth for consideration
• COVID vaccination card required
• RQI certifications are not accepted
