Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring a GA or compact RN license and at least one year of recent experience.

Responsibilities

• Position is on a Medical Surgical unit in a hospital setting
• Day shift working 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00
• Weekend shifts required every other weekend
• No call responsibilities
• Floating may be required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Travelers are expected to work all major holidays that fall during the assignment, with limited exceptions if three major holidays fall in the period
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off (RTO) is allowed; no holiday RTO may be requested unless three major holidays fall during assignment
• No blocked scheduling permitted
• Orientation modules must be completed during orientation and documented via transcripts
• Candidates must be available to submit core documentation and schedule labs within 48 hours of signing contract to ensure timely start
• Compliance must be achieved by the deadline to avoid assignment start delays due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
• Travelers previously deemed unable to return to a facility must complete a successful assignment at a different location before eligibility to return

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum of 1 year recent Med/Surg experience required
• Unit does not accept first-time travelers
• Must provide two supervisory references from a manager or higher (charge nurse references not accepted)
• Must be away from all Piedmont facilities for at least 1 year prior to returning as a traveler
