Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift position requiring a WV or compact RN license and expertise in emergency care procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital with a 5-bed ER and 2-bed Endoscopy area
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend is required
• Patients include those requiring continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, ventilator management, and triage
• Clinician may be floated within scope to meet facility needs
• Diagnostic services include electrocardiography, respiratory monitoring, nuclear medicine, radiology, suturing, and splint application
• Both 36-hour and 48-hour contract options available
• Orientation/start dates held every other week on Thursdays
• Responsibilities include administering emergency care, sedation, and monitoring critically ill patients
• Flu vaccination is required unless medically contraindicated
• Perm employees may not return as travelers until 3 years after last worked perm
• Blocked schedule requests may be accommodated when possible

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license, or eligibility to obtain (pending license accepted for consideration)
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience and at least 1 year recent emergency department experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Fit Test and CPI required (travelers may complete CPI upon assignment); TNCC preferred
• Demonstrated competency with continuous IV and procedural sedation, dysrhythmia management, triage, and ventilated patients
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility
• No prior suspensions on nursing license; probations considered case by case
