Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a Labor & Delivery position with experience in both L&D and post-partum care and every other weekend night shift requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Birth Center within the Labor & Delivery specialty
• Shift is 12-hour nights, with a weekend rotation every other weekend
• Unit includes 20 beds: 12 Labor & Delivery, 8 postpartum/antepartum, 3 OB/ED rooms, and 2 ORs
• Facility features a 6-bed level II NICU
• No call responsibilities
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Primary duties include caring for mothers and newborns from admission through discharge, assisting with labor and delivery, circulating for C-sections, and supporting post-partum care
• Need to be comfortable with all aspects of post-partum, mother, and newborn transition
• Multilingual abilities, especially in Russian or Spanish, are preferred due to patient population
• Teal scrubs are provided
• First-time travelers are encouraged to apply
• Nurse Practitioner onsite for support

Requirements

• Active WA or Compact RN license required; candidates may be submitted with a pending license
• Minimum of 2 years total L&D experience with at least 1 year in LDRP
• Current BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring certifications required
• Strong L&D skills, including cervical exams, antepartum and labor care, amnio infusions, epidurals, fetal monitoring, IVs, and Pitocin administration
• Must have experience circulating C-sections and providing comprehensive post-partum care
• Scrub experience preferred
• Experience with baby catching/receiving and APGAR scoring required
• Breastfeeding knowledge required
