Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 2 years of recent experience and a KS or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a critical access hospital
• Night shifts, 3x12 hours from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am
• Every third weekend is required
• Travelers may be asked to float to different units
• Locals are allowed at the same rate
• Block scheduling may be approved on a case-by-case basis
• Uses Centricity EMR, experience preferred
• Provide care for high-risk labor and delivery patients including forceps/vacuum-assisted deliveries, C-sections, cervical cerclage cases, neonatal and newborn care, postpartum care, and pain management
• Must be able to function independently after the second shift
• References will be required for consideration
• No radius restriction for local candidates
• Block scheduling requests reviewed by management
• No specified return staff policy

Requirements

• Active KS or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years recent Labor and Delivery RN experience required
• Travel RN experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• Experience assisting with sterile speculum exams, non-stress tests (NST), reflex checks, sterile vaginal exams, external fetal monitoring, IVs, and medication administration
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
