Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 1 year of vascular, neuro, and body procedures experience for an inpatient assignment.
Responsibilities
- Work in an inpatient hospital Interventional Radiology unit
- Caseload ranges from 13 to 17 cases per day
- Majority adult and geriatric patients with some adolescent cases
- Perform procedures including stents, angioplasty, angiograms, nephograms, kyphoplasty, peripheral interventions, biopsies, drainages, upper/lower extremity, abdominal/pelvic, genitourinary, vascular, venous access, and neurological studies including stroke interventions
- Uses Siemens and Phillips x-ray equipment; Acuson equipment experience preferred
- Uses PACS; EPIC and Visage preferred but not required
- First shift, Monday through Friday, with staggered 8-hour start times between 7:00 and 8:30 AM
- Weekends and evenings/nights require on-call rotation, with both primary and backup call
- 13-week contract term
- No floating required
- Must be available for full hospital orientation during the first week of assignment, with no RTO permitted during orientation
- Scrubs are provided
- Team provides a range of interventional procedures for neuro and body systems
- Travelers must participate in primary and backup call rotation covering evenings, nights, and weekends
- Travelers cannot work more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours in a week
- RTO for 7 days or less is auto-approved if it does not include holidays; candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Candidates with a permanent address under 50 miles will be offered a lower local rate
- Rehire candidates must have a 12-month gap since prior permanent, PRN, or EP staff employment and require approval
- Current Novant Health or New Hanover travel Per Diem clinicians are ineligible for travel assignments
- Two supervisor or manager references from the past 12 months are highly preferred at time of consideration
- Travel pairs are allowed if working in different units
- Modules and onboarding must be completed before the start date
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this assignment
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of recent interventional radiology technologist experience
- Current BLS and ARRT certifications required
- Experience with vascular and neuro (stroke and body work) procedures required
- Proficiency with Siemens and Phillips x-ray equipment required
- Hospital inpatient experience required
- Experience with PACS and intravenous contrast administration required
- Traveler experience required; first-time travelers are not accepted
- NC or Compact license required in hand at time of start; license required if applicable
- Epic and Visage charting experience preferred
- ARRT Advanced Certification preferred
