Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 1 year of neuro and scrub experience and current ARRT and BLS certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Assignment is in an inpatient hospital interventional radiology unit
  • Patients include primarily adults and geriatrics, with some adolescents
  • Daily caseload ranges from 13 to 17 cases
  • Provides coverage for both neuro (stroke intervention) and body IR procedures
  • Utilizes Siemens and Phillips x-ray equipment, with Acuson preferred
  • Uses PACS for imaging and Epic for charting (Epic and Visage experience preferred)
  • First shift Monday to Friday with staggered start times between 7:00 and 8:30 AM for 8-hour shifts
  • Evening, night, and weekend call rotation required, with both primary and backup call
  • No floating required for this unit
  • Must be available for full hospital orientation during the first week; missing orientation may delay or cancel assignment
  • Scrubs are provided by the facility
  • Must be comfortable with a variety of neuro and body IR procedures
  • No extended RTO is permitted after booking; up to 7 days may be pre-approved as long as it does not fall on a holiday
  • Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the assignment
  • Travelers who have worked as a permanent or PRN employee at this health system must have a 12-month gap before consideration
  • Current travel Per Diem clinicians at this health system are not eligible for this travel contract
  • Assignments are typically 13 weeks in length
  • Must not have any other commitments that interfere with orientation or assignment start

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of interventional radiology technologist experience with scrub and neuro experience required
  • Traveler experience required; first-time travelers are not accepted
  • Current ARRT and BLS certifications required
  • Experience with Siemens and Phillips x-ray equipment required
  • Proficiency in vascular studies, stroke and body procedures, and a wide range of IR interventions including stents, angioplasty, angiograms, nephograms, kyphoplasty, biopsies, drainages, and venous access
  • Hospital inpatient experience, PACS and contrast administration experience required
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • ARRT Advanced Certification preferred
  • NC or Compact license required if applicable; pending acceptance for application, must be in hand at start
