Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position requiring a compact or SD RN license and at least two years of cath lab experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in an acute care hospital's Cardiac Cath Lab
- Level 1 trauma center environment
- Unit includes 8 fluoroscopy rooms and 2 procedural rooms with an average of 30 patients per day
- Nurse to patient ratio is 1:1
- Procedures include heart catheterizations, PCIs, pacemakers, ICDs, EP procedures, TEEs, cardioversions, venous ablations, and peripheral vascular angiograms
- Uses equipment such as Pyxis, XIM (Philips monitoring system), Epic, Xcelera, ultrasounds, Angiojets, EKOS machines, and Acist contrast injection system
- Epic EMR is used; prior experience is preferred
- Full-time, 13-week contract with 4x10 hour varying day shifts (0530-1600, 0630-1700, 0730-1800)
- On call 1 day per week and one weekend every 3–4 weeks, with a 30 minute response time
- May be required to cover call on Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays
- Duties include administering and monitoring conscious sedation, and circulating in a sterile environment
- Will receive 4–6 orientation shifts tailored to charting and physician equipment preferences
- Ceil blue scrubs are provided and required
- All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
- Returning employees must have ended previous Sanford Health employment at least 6 months prior to consideration
- Local candidates within 80 miles are eligible but pay adjustment applies
- Holiday call coverage may be required
- RTO must be requested prior to assignment
Requirements
- Active SD or compact RN license required
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum of 2 years recent cath lab RN experience required
- Graduation from an approved nursing program required; graduation from a NLN or AACN accredited program strongly preferred
- Experience with Epic charting system preferred
