Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist with 2-3 years of experience and current ACLS and BLS certifications for an acute care Level 1 trauma setting.

Responsibilities

• Work in a cardiac catheterization lab within an acute care hospital
• Unit features 8 fluoroscopy rooms and 1 minimally invasive room without fluoroscopy
• Procedures include peripheral and vascular cases, right and left heart catheterizations, and electrophysiology (EP) cases
• Shift consists of 4x10 hour varying day shifts (0530-1600, 0630-1700, 0730-1800)
• On-call required: 1-2 calls per week and 1 call weekend every 3-4 weeks, with a 30-minute response time
• No floating to other units
• Utilizes XIM (Witt/Philips charting), Epic EMR, Pyxis, Xcelera, Siemens, and Philips fluoroscopy equipment
• Responsibilities include scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring in peripheral/vascular, cardiac cath, and select EP procedures
• Orientation includes focused training on XIM monitoring as well as scrub and circulate duties
• Ceil blue scrubs are provided
• All staff must badge in and out at the facility
• Local candidates within 80 miles may be accepted with an adjusted rate
• All previous employees must have a minimum 6-month gap since last employment at the facility

Requirements

• Minimum of 2-3 years of recent cath lab technologist experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required)
• RCIS or RCES certification preferred
• Experience with cardiac catheterization and EP procedures
• Familiarity with Epic EMR and electronic medication and charting systems
• License required if applicable
