Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology (IR) position in an acute care setting, requiring a current CA RN license and proficiency with procedural sedation.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Interventional Radiology (IR) unit within an acute care hospital
• Typical cases include biopsies, drainages, angiography, angioplasty, embolizations, gastrostomy tubes, cryoablation, and catheter or line placements
• Day shift, 10-hour shifts with rotating call on evenings, nights, and weekends
• Work every other weekend and cover at least one major and one minor holiday during the contract
• Single suite/lab with average daily case volume that varies
• Floating to nearby campus (Mercy Southwest, approximately 6.5 miles away) may be required
• EMR systems used are Cerner, Radnet, and Merge Unity
• Assist interventional radiologists with minimally invasive procedures and patient positioning
• Travel to other imaging modalities such as CT and Ultrasound to assist physicians as needed
• Comprehensive orientation provided by Lead RN, lasting at least one week
• Navy surgical scrubs are provided by the hospital
• First to float policy applies to travelers
• Candidates must not have been employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year in any capacity except through an outside agency
• Holiday coverage and rotating call are required throughout the assignment

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at the time of consideration
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an RN, with previous IR experience preferred
• Ability to pass Procedural Sedation competency and EKG exam
• Ability to respond to call within 30 minutes
• Must provide two professional references: one supervisor reference from the past 12 months and one supervisor or peer reference from the past 3 years
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
