Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of experience and pediatric expertise for a Level II acute care setting utilizing Epic EMR.

Responsibilities

• Position is in an acute care hospital environment
• Monday through Friday schedule, 8:30am to 5pm, totaling 40 hours per week
• Occasional weekend shift required every 4-6 weeks
• Patient population may include individuals of all ages with a wide variety of diagnoses and disorders
• Pediatric experience is required
• EpicCare Inpatient EMR is used for charting; prior Epic experience is preferred
• Responsibilities include evaluating and treating clients with functional, cognitive, behavioral, and developmental impairments
• Develop therapy goals, administer occupational therapy programs, and provide client education to improve functional outcomes
• Documentation must comply with departmental guidelines and regulatory requirements
• May supervise assistants, aides, or students involved in patient care
• Orientation support provided by physical and occupational therapy colleagues
• Dress code includes grey scrubs or business casual attire
• Trauma Level II facility
• Candidates with a permanent address within 80 miles are not eligible
• Disclosure required if previously employed by Sanford Health, with six-month minimum break

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of occupational therapy experience
• Must be licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the state of practice (license required if applicable)
• Certification from the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) is required
• Current BLS certification is required
• Education in accordance with state licensure standards
• Must have demonstrated experience working with pediatric patients
