Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Swing position providing night shift care in an acute setting, requiring an active IA or compact RN license and 2 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care hospital on the Med/Surg Swing unit
• Med/Surg patient population in a critical access environment
• 12-hour night shifts from 6:30pm to 7:00am with varying days
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Unit follows a strict fingernail policy prohibiting artificial nails in patient care
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult Med/Surg patients during night shifts
• Swing RN in a critical access facility may assist with a range of unit responsibilities
• Mandatory removal of artificial nails as per unit infection control policy
• Every other weekend shift required
• 12 hours of paid orientation provided
• First-time travelers will be considered for this assignment
• Scrub or dress code details to be provided during onboarding

Requirements

• Active IA or compact RN license required at time of application; pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg RN experience required
• Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA)
• ED experience preferred but not required
• Copy of driver’s license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; driver’s license used for verification
• Applicants must not have been employed by CommonSpirit Health (including CHI/Dignity) in any role within the past 12 months
