Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical position requiring recent Level I Trauma and travel nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a large hospital setting
• Patient ratio is typically 1:6 to 1:7 utilizing a team nursing model
• Night shift schedule consisting of four 12-hour shifts per week (7:00pm to 7:00am)
• On-call and weekend shifts are required as needed
• Floating may occur between similar units and campuses within 20 miles, though rare
• Cerner EMR is used, and previous experience with Cerner is preferred
• Nurses will operate under a team-based care model with support from experienced staff
• Must be willing to work at least 2 of 3 major holidays that fall within the assignment (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's), or 1 of 2 if only two occur
• All requested time off must be declared at the time of application; late requests will not be considered
• Returning employees must be separated from previous employment for at least one year to be eligible
• Scrubs or uniform dress code details will be provided during orientation
• Vaccination status documentation must be provided prior to starting

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license, non-pending status required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Medical Surgical experience is strictly required
• Previous Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
• Experience in large hospital settings required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• No local candidates within a 100-mile radius
• No first-time travelers will be considered
