Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Sonographer for high-quality adult echo studies in a premier cardiac center, requiring ARDMS or CCI registration.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a cardiac operating room within a hospital setting
• Schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
• Assignment length is 13 weeks with 40 hours per week
• Work involves performing adult echocardiography as per ASE and IAC guidelines
• Inpatient echo work with a minimum documented caseload of 200 inpatient studies
• Procedures include valvular assessment, contrast echocardiography, and agitated saline studies
• Uses Philips ie33 and Epiq ultrasound systems
• Epic EMR is used and familiarity is preferred
• Potential to float to a nearby sister hospital as needed
• Main responsibilities involve preparing patients, performing adult echocardiogram studies, and ensuring proper imaging and reporting
• May perform advanced studies such as TEE and Stress Echo if experienced
• Responsible for maintaining equipment, records, and inventory for assigned area
• Must review prior images and reports and communicate critical findings promptly
• Expected to uphold ICAEL-accredited lab standards
• Professional attire or scrubs may be required (confirm specifics at facility)
• Position does not accept candidates who live within a 50-mile radius
• Assignments may last up to one year before a mandatory 30–60 day break is required
• Travelers may be asked to float between hospital sites

Requirements

• Current registration as a Cardiac Sonographer by ARDMS or CCI required
• BLS certification from AHA is required
• Active NJ license required if applicable
• Minimum of 200 inpatient echocardiography cases documented by institutional referral
• High School Diploma or GED required; graduate of CAAHEP or ABHES Cardiovascular Technology Program preferred
• Proficiency in spectral Doppler, Pedoff skills, and valvular assessment
• Experience with contrast echo and agitated saline studies required
• Ability to work independently and respond to critical findings quickly
• Experience with Epic charting preferred
