Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Sonographer for a cardiac OR setting, requiring inpatient echo proficiency and ARDMS or CCI certification.

Responsibilities

• Position based in a cardiac operating room with a focus on adult echo studies
• Work schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, five days per week
• Dedicated to inpatient echocardiography following ASE and IAC guidelines
• Procedures performed include standard echo, contrast echocardiography, and agitated saline studies
• Use of Philips ie33 and Epiq echo systems
• Epic EMR is used; prior Epic experience is preferred
• May be required to float to a nearby sister hospital
• Perform high quality echo studies according to ASE and IAC guidelines
• Review prior reports, images, and patient charts to ensure comprehensive exams
• Notify readers promptly for abnormal or critical findings
• Maintain records of exams and manage inventory for assigned area
• Scrub color or dress code not specified; follow department standards
• Position may require holiday coverage based on department needs
• Assignment limited to one calendar year; 30-60 day break required before returning

Requirements

• Active NJ Sonographer license required if applicable
• Registered Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) certification required
• BLS certification from AHA required
• High School Diploma or GED required; graduation from a CAAHEP or ABHES Cardiovascular Technology Program preferred
• Minimum experience of 200 documented inpatient echocardiography cases required
• Proficiency with valvular assessment, spectral Doppler, and Pedoff
• Experience with contrast echo and agitated saline studies
• TEE and Stress Echo experience preferred
• Familiarity with 3D echo, TAVR, MitraClip, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, VAD, closure device protocols preferred
• Experience maintaining ICAEL-accreditation echo lab standards preferred
• Familiarity with Epic EMR system preferred
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
