Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist for a split assignment between two hospitals, with experience scanning head, neck, and transplant cases required.
Responsibilities
- Position is split between two hospital locations: one focused on head and neck exams, US-guided procedures, and the other on general ultrasounds, DVT, and transplant cases
- Work schedule includes Sunday and Saturday (8:00 AM–6:30 PM) at one site and Monday and Thursday (7:00 AM–5:30 PM) at the other
- Head and neck imaging uses Philips Epiq Elite equipment
- General, DVT, pediatric, and transplant imaging uses GE Loqiq 10s equipment
- Collaborate closely with radiologists in an academic hospital setting
- EPIC charting system is used
- Duties include detailed protocol scanning, supporting US-guided biopsies and procedures, and potentially assisting with OR guidance
- Work closely with a team of radiologists and participate in high-acuity academic hospital workflows
- No first-time travelers specified
- Permanent residence must be at least 60 miles from the hospital for travel rate eligibility; local candidates accepted at a lower rate
- No validated parking is available; public transportation and paid public lots are options
- Compliance with hospital vaccination and licensing policies is mandatory
Requirements
- Valid MA sonographer license required if applicable; conditional licenses are not accepted
- BLS certification from AHA required
- Previous experience with head, neck, general, and transplant ultrasound exams is preferred
- Ability to scan adult and pediatric patients is a plus
- Experience with Epic EMR is preferred
- Proof of flu vaccination is required with no exceptions
