Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Float RN with an active MO or compact license, BLS certification, and at least one year of Med/Surg experience.

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based Medical Surgical Float position
• Will float within the Med/Surg service line as needed
• Typical patient ratio is 1:5
• Care provided for adult patients ages 16 and older from various admitting teams such as Neurology, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Orthopedics, and Oncology
• Diagnoses range from diabetes, CHF, COPD, renal disease, orthopedic fractures, and neurological deficits
• General duties include IV therapy, lab draws, nasogastric tube care, wound care, assisting with bedside procedures, and conscious sedation
• Day shift schedule is 4x12 hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:30
• Every other weekend is required
• Expected to work 50% of contracted holidays
• May be assigned to the adult overflow unit serving all hospital admitting physician teams
• General floor responsibilities include charge duties as needed
• First time travelers are welcome to apply
• RTO (Requested Time Off) must be submitted prior to approval
• Local candidates are accepted at a reduced rate if residing within 75 miles of the facility

Requirements

• Active MO or compact state RN license required at the time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• Minimum of one year Med/Surg nursing experience required
• At least one year of experience in the submitted specialty and a total of two years of RN experience strongly preferred
• Cerner EMR experience is preferred but not required
