Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring a TX or Compact RN license and strong OR specialty skills.

Responsibilities

• Main Operating Room in a hospital setting
• Day shifts from 6:30 to 19:00, working 3x12 hour shifts per week
• Alternating schedule: Monday-Wednesday week 1; Wednesday-Friday week 2
• No on-call requirements
• Procedures include robotic XI, orthopedic, spine/neuro, general/gyn, some ENT, ophthalmology, pain management, urology, vascular, and trauma level 2 cases
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• 3 to 4 days of orientation provided
• Role covers a broad mix of surgical specialties in a level 2 trauma environment
• Must be comfortable working with a wide range of surgical cases and technologies
• Adherence to standard hospital dress code for the OR is required
• First-time travelers will be considered

Requirements

• Active TX or Compact RN license required
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
• At least 1 year of RN experience required; 2-3 years strongly preferred
• Recent OR experience with exposure to robotic, orthopedic, spine/neuro, and trauma procedures required
• Must submit 2 supervisory references from the last 3 years
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted
