Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Lead RN with at least two years of OR and leadership experience for a weekday day shift surgical services position requiring a CO or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based surgical services department
• Lead perioperative team in patient throughput and surgical scheduling
• Handles a variety of cases including orthopedic, general surgery, gynecology, ophthalmology, ENT, and interventional pain management
• Operates during weekday day shifts, with either five 8-hour days or four 10-hour days
• Performs both circulation and scrub roles in the OR
• Utilizes Cerner EMR for documentation
• Responsible for staffing, schedule flow, and efficient patient throughput in surgical services
• Acts as a preceptor and assists in the orientation of new team members
• Provides direct care as well as administrative supervision
• Participates in maintaining, revising, and discontinuing surgical preference cards
• Collaborates closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and support staff
• Effective communication and independent judgment expected in daily oversight

Requirements

• Active CO or compact RN license currently in hand
• Minimum of two years of operating room experience required
• Minimum of two years of leadership experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• CNOR and CRNFA certifications required
• Experience with Cerner EMR required
• Orthopedic, general surgery, gynecology, ophthalmology, ENT, and interventional pain management experience required
