Job Description
American Traveler seeks a Speech Language Pathologist with pediatric experience for a day shift outpatient rehab contract working with medically complex children.
Responsibilities
- Outpatient pediatric rehab setting
- Work with children and young adults ages birth to 21 with varied and medically complex diagnoses
- Diagnoses include SCI/TBI, developmental language delay, cognitive impairment, language disorders, dysfluency, and hearing impairment
- Collaborate with Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy for interdisciplinary care
- Shift is 8-hour days, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- 13-week assignment
- Position requires adherence to a 50-mile radius rule for eligibility
- Responsible for patient evaluation, development of plan of care, and treatment implementation
- Complete electronic documentation and billing
- Utilize resources efficiently and seek additional work when caseload is low
- Work collaboratively with schedulers to maintain a full caseload
- Participate in education of students, staff, and the community
- Contribute to the rehab team culture and support expected professional behaviors
Requirements
- Current Speech Language Pathology license required if applicable
- Experience in pediatric specialty and evaluation and treatment of children with diverse diagnoses
- Ability to manage and treat patients with medical complexity
- Maintain continuing education requirements for licensure
