Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Stress Test Clinic position requiring at least one year of stress test experience and current WI or compact RN licensure.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Cardiac Stress Test Clinic and Cardiac Cath Lab within an acute care setting
• Responsibilities include preparing patients and performing exercise or pharmacologic stress tests, monitoring vital signs, and administering medications per protocol
• Collaborate closely with cardiologists for patient safety and accurate test results
• Patient caseload averages 4-8 studies per day
• May float to cover stress tests and clinic duties as needed
• Department consists of 2 rooms; GE equipment and Muse & Cingo Dynamics systems used
• Cerner EMR currently used; transitioning to Epic
• Scheduled for five 8-hour day shifts per week with varying start times (Monday & Wednesday 7:00-16:00; Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 8:00-17:00)
• No weekend, holiday, or on-call requirements
• Scrub attire is any color, must be clean and professional
• Main duties include conducting and monitoring all aspects of cardiac stress testing and supporting clinic patient visits
• Department is led by an RN Lead with an in-house cardiologist present during the day
• Orientation consists of 1-3 shifts with a preceptor
• Former employees must have at least a 6-month break in service and require hospital approval for rehire
• Local candidates living within 80 miles of the facility are eligible with a reduced bill rate
• Must clock in and out daily at the facility
• No prior experience with the facility required

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required by start date
• Current ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA) certifications required
• Minimum of 1 year recent experience performing cardiac stress tests
• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
• Clinic experience preferred
• Ability to start IVs for Echo Techs if needed
• Two professional references required: one supervisor reference and one peer or supervisor reference
