Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med-Surg Ortho/Spine night shift position requiring a NY license, EPIC experience, and strong recent specialty experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Med-Surg Ortho/Spine unit
• Night shift position, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Assignment length is 13 weeks
• Patients include those with orthopedic and spinal conditions
• EPIC EMR is used and prior experience is required
• No blocked scheduling allowed
• More than three call outs during the assignment will result in contract termination and make-up shifts must be completed within six weeks
• Competency testing is required, and applicants with less than 2 years of experience must pass Med-Surg testing within two attempts
• No local candidates residing in Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, or Washington counties will be considered
• All requested time off must be submitted with application
• Only one position application is allowed per traveler
• Travel pairs are not permitted

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Med-Surg Ortho/Spine nursing experience required
• Current BLS and any other certifications must be from the American Heart Association (AHA) or RQI
• Experience with EPIC EMR is mandatory
• No 90-day or longer work history gaps in the past 12 months
• Seasonal influenza vaccination required, only medical exemptions signed by a licensed professional are accepted
• US Social Security Number required; Canadian SIN is not accepted
